Document damage and repairs separately
If water intrusion or another damage event affected the house, explain which areas were affected and what was repaired. Keep existing photographs, contractor scopes and known permit numbers available for later review. Do not assume that every Houston property has the same history or flood exposure. For work involving floodplain questions, identify the responsible permitting authority before relying on an earlier contractor statement. Your actual property history is more useful than a neighborhood-wide assumption.
