Use the city history to organize questions, not settle family authority
Philadelphia’s Atlas brings together address-based real estate information and permit, license and inspection history. For an inherited house, use available records to make a list of prior alterations and questions to review alongside the current condition. A name or historical document in a property search does not by itself establish who can authorize a sale today. Identify the family contact and explain any uncertainty about ownership or access to the appropriate estate and title professionals before signing terms.
